Please note that this event has been rescheduled from its original date to October 6, 2023. The time and location remain the same.
Join VCUarts Painting + Printmaking graduate Loie Hollowell (M.F.A. ’12) in conversation with art historian Katie Anania, Ph.D.
Hollowell will speak to recent developments in her practice, her experiences as a VCUarts student and the important role drawing plays in her creative process.
This is a hybrid event. Please register to attend virtually.
This lecture coincides with Drawing as Urtext, the first exhibition to solely explore the unique significance of the Hollowell’s drawings, which are both “preparatory”—serving as the basis for future works—and fully realized standalone art. The exhibition is on display at the Anderson through October 18, 2023.
