MFA in Design, Graphic Design Come join a Graphic Design program that develops the philosophy and personal direction of each student and focuses your resources on critical, research-based and expressive visual communication. You will concentrate on the philosophical, communicative, and aesthetic relationships of visual problem-solving and interacting skills leading to the effective articulation of concepts. The program is oriented toward individuals interested in conducting visual or theoretical research, and in investigating the intersection of cultural literacy, collaboration, research and play. MFA in Design, Interior Design (professional entry-level and post-professional options) Come and learn how to design the interior world we experience as either a second-degree seeker interested in pursuing a career in interior design, or someone who has already earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design looking to further your knowledge and skills in the field through our intellectually rigorous, studio-based educational experience grounded in the issues of interior space. MFA in Fine Arts, Craft/Material Studies (concentrations in clay, fiber, glass, metals, and wood) Pursue a degree rooted in a material-based investigation designed to cultivate curiosity and encourage the exploration of the multidisciplinary language of ceramics, glass, wood, fibers, and metal. MFA in Fine Arts, Kinetic Imaging Study experimental media arts, focusing on integrating technology across video, animation, sound and emerging media including VR/AR, installation, real-time coding, projection mapping, gaming, electronic music & synthesizers.
MFA in Fine Arts, Painting and Printmaking Study in an intensive studio context in painting, drawing, printmaking, and interdisciplinary practices with ample opportunity to experiment, reflect, and be supported and challenged by an aesthetically diverse and informed community of artists and scholars. We are interested in ambitious individuals engaged in the world as artists and critical thinkers, working to generate new practices and insights. MFA in Fine Arts, Photography/Film Explore traditional and contemporary photography and film genres and processes, including performance imaging, documentary, non-narrative, and essay filmmaking, and multimedia installation. Designed for emerging artists whose work challenges the common definitions of photography, film, and video.
MFA in Fine Arts, Sculpture + Extended Media Deepen and expand your studio practice alongside a cohort and faculty/artist community engaged in a diverse range of sculptural approaches from spatial, object, and material-based practices; to performance, film and lens-based media; from social and relational to web-based and evolving technologies. MFA in Theatre (pedagogy/performance)
Tailored to early to mid-career theatre professionals who wish to teach at the university or college level. Prepares students in performance pedagogy in higher education and in other applications within the broader field of theatre education. Gain experience in the classroom and in a variety of practical and professional opportunities. Study pedagogy, performance studies, dramaturgy, and critical studies along with production work and teaching and assisting opportunities in undergraduate classes.
MAE in Art Education Grow your practice as a critically reflective art educator in a program that links theory to practice in schools, museums, and community settings. Focus on research projects in the arts AND technology, healthcare, LGBTQ+ student experiences, the environment, disabilities studies, culturally relevant pedagogy and social responsibility in a city with deep art resources.
