Pollak Society

VCUarts Dean Carmenita Higginbotham, Ph.D., invites you to join the Pollak Society, a premier group of supporters named in memory of our school’s founder Theresa Pollak. Every member of the Pollak Society plays an important role in the success of VCUarts, supporting student scholarships, groundbreaking research and enriching academic experiences.

In the last year, Pollak Society funds provided research grants, allowing faculty members like Yiwen Wei to examine American art education scholars’ global influences on art education development in Taiwan, and Tobias Wofford to produce his scholarly book Visualizing Diaspora: Africa in African American Art. In addition, 17 graduate students received grants to pursue research projects that will help to launch their careers as emerging artists, performers and scholars.

Pollak Society members also enjoy insider access and personalized experiences at one of the country’s top schools for arts and design. You will receive exclusive opportunities to engage with students and internationally renowned faculty through members-only programming including exhibition previews, behind-the-scenes tours, special performances and more.
