Performance opportunities for students in the Department of Music include the VCU Symphony, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, University Band, Opera Orchestra, two jazz orchestras and various chamber ensembles in both the classical and jazz areas.
Students are also encouraged to take advantage of the music culture in the city of Richmond and many perform at area clubs, churches and private functions.

Opportunities for non-music majors
Are you a non-music major who wants to participate in one of our ensembles? We have opportunities for you!
All students at VCU, regardless of major, are welcome to participate in music department ensembles. Some ensembles require an audition, but others are open to all.
