The May VCUarts graduation ceremony will be at Altria Theater.
Doors open at 12 p.m. Graduates should plan to arrive at 12:30pm for line-up in the lower level Altria ballroom. Access the theater through the entrance located on Main Street, past the Altria box office. The ceremony will begin at 1pm.
Upon arrival, you will complete a form to have your name called during the ceremony.
Students and faculty will be admitted at the theater’s Main Street entrance located past the box office. Altria security will direct you to the hallway located on the second level.
Yes. All graduates who attend the VCUarts ceremony will have their names called when they walk across the stage.
All May 2023 graduates that checked out on eServices by the deadline stated in the academic calendar will be printed in the program. Please contact your departmental advisor for questions about the graduation checkout process.
Each graduate will be issued 6 guest passes. Passes will be available for pick up, on or after April 17th, at the VCUarts Dean’s office located in the Pollak Building, 2nd floor suite 201.
A cap and gown are required for graduates. A professional photographer will be at the ceremony and will take photos as you cross the stage. Proofs will be share with the graduate by way of the email they provided on the registration form.
If you are unable to attend the Grad Fair or visit the bookstore, please order your regalia online at balfour.com/vcu. Shipping charges will apply to all internet orders.
Photo Specialties will be taking professional photos of graduates with your diploma after you cross the stage. A proof of the photo and information about purchasing will be sent to you following commencement.

No. Diplomas will be mailed to the address provided during graduation checkout. To receive your diploma, you must meet all financial obligations to the university. Please contact the Office of Records and Registration at (804) 827-1673 or graduation@vcu.edu with any questions.
