VCU Music is hosting Seamus McDaniel as part of its Guitar Series on Sunday, March 26th at 4:00pm in the Singleton Center for the Performing Arts.
Seamus McDaniel is an up-and-coming guitarist and musician based in Richmond, VA. After graduating from VCU with a B.A. in Music, he’s had his sights on teaching, composing, and performing as a modern guitarist. Seamus was concertmaster of the VCU Guitar Ensemble and performed as a soloist in the 2019 Experiencing Villa-Lobos International Festival. More recently, he was a speaker and performer as a part of the VMFA’s Richmond Sessions, an online interview series which accompanies their Storied Strings: The Guitar in American Art exhibition. Seamus currently composes music with his band Retrosphere, which has several releases such as In Motion and the Flourish EP, and plans to release his debut solo EP titled Mind in the Spring of 2023.
