Come see VCU Music professors Daniel Myssyk and Rex Richardson perform with the Richmond Symphony! Daniel Myssyk will conduct the performance, while Rex Richardson is appearing as the headlining soloist. Richardson has been described by Downbeat magazine as “A standout soloist with the power, range, and flexibility to rival Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw…”
Several notable VCU alumni are involved with this performance as well. Richardson will play a concerto composed by alum Trey Pollard, who co-owns Spacebomb Studios here in Richmond. Rex Richardson will also be joined on stage by alum Steve Wilson, who has been described as “a true superstar of the international jazz scene.”
