Program: Salerni Seven Meditations for Piano Trio

Meet the Composer is both a talk and a concert in one, with the composer leading the conversation. ‘Seven Meditations’ was written by Mr. Salerni in response to the New York Times article, ‘Three Women of Bucha’, illuminating the brutality of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian War. The subject matter demonstrates the fortitude of these three women- one a former public servant, an animal lover, and a grandmother. The trio was commissioned by Richmond’s Belvedere Chamber Music Series, who are the performers for this concert.
