With over three decades as a Director of Photography and cameraman, Bunt comes to the VCU Cinema program with an immense wealth of both technical and creative knowledge and ability. Bunt has served as a camera operator and/or DP for projects as diverse as Terrence Malick’s The New World, the independent films Permanent and When Last We Spoke,, PBS’ Mercy Street, NOVA and shows for the Investigation Discovery and National Geographic channels; the award-winning documentaries God Grew Tired of Us and Eating Animals for producers Christopher Quinn, Natalie Portman, Catherine Keener and Brad Pitt, and The Race of Gentlemen for director Wayne Gibson.

He has shot national ad campaigns for the Sierra Club, Wrangler, Circuit City and Lorne Michael’s Burly Bear Network; regional ad campaigns for Virginia’s  Lottery, Railway Express and Tobacco Settlement Foundation; the Indy 500, Disney’s Christmas on Ice, FOX’s Into the Tombs of the Golden Mummies with Hugh Downs and Bill Pullman, Monday Night Football, ABC’s Wide World of Sports, and ESPN Speed World, for which Bunt received three national Emmy Awards.

His shooting talents have contributed to productions that have been nominated and won One Show, Emmy and and Academy Awards, and awards at the Sundance, Deauville, Galway, Telluride, Worldfest-Houston film festivals and the International Monthly Film Festival.
