We are pleased to announce that this past May, the VCU Board of Visitors approved the award of promotion and/or tenure to 11 VCUarts faculty and three VCUarts Qatar faculty. This is a notable milestone for our esteemed colleagues and speaks to their years of success and dedication to their disciplines, our students, the advancement of knowledge and their service to VCU.
Those who were promoted to associate professor with tenure include: Justin Alexander in the Department of Music; Elissa Armstrong in the School of the Arts; Cara Benedetto in the Department of Painting and Printmaking; Nicole Killian in the Department of Graphic Design; Eric Rivera in the Department of Dance and Choreography; Paul Thulin-Jimenez in the Department of Photography and Film; Tobias Wofford, Ph.D., in the Department of Art History; and Courtnie Wolfgang, Ph.D., in the Department of Art Education.
Stephen Alcorn from the Department of Communication Arts, Hope Ginsburg, from the School of the Arts and Semi Ryu from the Department of Kinetic Imaging were promoted to full professor.
At VCUarts Qatar, three faculty members were promoted to associate professor. Liam Colquhoun was promoted in the Department of Interior Design, Radha Dalal, Ph.D., was promoted in the Department of Art History, and Byrad Yyelland, Ed.D., was promoted in the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
