Departure Point Films LLC is Janelle Proulx and Tyler Kirby. We met while pursuing our MFA and BFA degrees respectively in Photo & Film at Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduation, we followed different interests: Tyler in small business marketing and Janelle in non-profit gallery administration and university teaching. In the winter of 2015 we started talking about melding our passions for filmmaking, art, education, and storytelling (and Tyler’s love of technology) into a production company. We’ve been working together since.
