TO KEEP YOU WARM 2023: An Exhibition of Quilts

TO KEEP YOU WARM 2023: An Exhibition of Quilts
December 12–15, 2023
Reception: December 12, 5–7pm

Quilt:Verb: to stitch or sew together: conjoin, join, make contact or come together.

To Keep You Warm is a collaborative project by students in the Craft/Material Studies, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, and Urban Studies  Departments. The artists have used the skills they’ve learned over the course of the semester to design and create full sized quilts. Scraps of fabric, upcycled clothing and domestic materials have been carefully considered, dyed, cut and brought together through the work of many hands. The exhibition will be on view on the top floor of The Anderson.

These quilts will be donated to patients in palliative care at the VCU Massey Cancer Center upon the closing of this exhibition. The focus of this care center is to improve the quality of life for patients of any age in grappling with a serious illness. In making and giving these pieces, our students are proud to connect with these patients and give back to their community.
