Department chair Stephen Vitiello’s “Slow Machines” was listed among NPR Music’s Top 10 Albums of February. Vitiello recently released “Slow Machines,” a collaborative album with Michael Grigoni, on experimental music label 12k. On the album, Vitiello enhances the classic sound of Grigoni’s pedal steel guitar with his electronics and processing. The combination of the two on “Slow Machines” “is like floating in a salt lake” according to NPR Music’s Andrew Flanagan.
