Praise for Frank Pichel’s Quarantine Cat

After being turned down from Emory University’s children’s book competition, Professor Frank Pichel and wife Sarah Legare were sought out by Ember Publishing House. The company took an interest in the couple’s entry and decided to publish despite not winning the competition. Between Pichel’s knack for detailed illustration and Legare’s public health background, the two created the perfect story for these unprecedented times. The story is called Staying Home with Quarantine Cat, and its mission is to openly and honestly communicate to children the reasons behind the pandemic in a light-hearted way. Despite the protagonist being a cute cat, the book touches on very human truths that can be better told through the lens of a main character absent from race or gender. The book can be found at Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, and Amazon with hopes that it can be distributed at local bookstores soon.
