The Department of Theatre proudly presented our first in-person improv shows in almost two years as part of our 2021-22 mainstage season.

  • Black Brown n Honey is VCU’s newest team! An amazingly funny improv team “for brown people by brown people,” Directed by Guest Artist Shamoniki Ellison @blackbrownnhoney
  • Running AMok is VCU’s longest running improv team at VCU with a ride or die passion for comedy, improv, and being part of VCU’s comedy family. They specialize in character driven narrative long form with the quick pacing of short term comedy.  Directed by Head of Improv Elizabeth Byland and Asst. Director David Koenigsberg (BA ’20) @runningamokimprov  
  • Wait Did They Just Kiss? is a larger team of 10 members that loves harder than most and supports eachother to no end, while focusing on a mix of long-form and short-form comedy. Directed by Head of Improv Elizabeth Byland and Asst. Director David Koenigsberg (BA ’20) @waitdidtheyjustkiss
  • Toxic Shock is a group of women and non-binary, non-gender conforming people that are fearless and unapologetic with their comedy. Directed by Marisa Rigot (BA’21) @toxic_shock_improv
