VCUarts and The Anderson are pleased to present Ruthless, an exhibition from Mya Paz, a student in the Craft & Material Studies department. Ruthless, the love child of pro-wrestling and queerness, will be on view on the Mezzanine level of The Anderson.
Exhibition Statement
This exhibition focuses on the main character of Paz’s comic book, “Ruthless” Mango del Carmen, who does no evil and takes no evil. In a bloodthirsty, dog-eat-dog world, Paz’s characters transcend the limits that society puts on violent women. The characters of Ruthless are not afraid to resort to savagery, as the world has been nothing but callous and barbaric to them. Combining many different disciplines, Ruthless begins to tell the merciless story of Mango del Carmen and friends for the first time, and it will be just that. . . Ruthless.
