Together//Apart

VCUarts and The Anderson are pleased to present Together//Apart, a collaboration between Dance + Choreography and Kinetic Imaging faculty member Dr. Kate Sicchio, VCU Engineering faculty member Dr. Patrick Martin and The Hive Lab. Together//Apart is a series of choreographic performances that reflect creative human-robot team research into the symbiotic relationship between dance and engineering. The performances between the dancers and robots explore movement, improvisation and intertwined moments of expressivity as a way to examine how autonomous moving systems can learn from dancers and how choreography can be expanded through the use of bodies beyond humans.
Each performance lasts 15 minutes and will be followed by a 15 minute Q+A. This event is free and open to the public.
