Tyler Fauntleroy (BFA ’17), pictured on right, has been nominated for a Drama League award for Tambo & Bones. The Awards ceremony is May 20th. Congrats Tyler!


Megan Coatney (BFA ’22) will be working alongside Creative Studios from Norwegian Cruise Lines as the Assistant Stage Manager for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical that will be setting sail on their new ship, Norwegian Prima this August. Congrats Megan!


The podcast that newsletter editor Jerry Williams (BFA ’71) launched in January, SIFTER FOR THE EAR, has been picked up by local station WRIR (97.3FM) and airs weekly on Fridays at 11:30am. His recent shows include an interview with Gigi New (BFA ’87) (with surprise guest Andrew Hawkes BFA ’87) talking about her latest project with HBO, The Garcias, and her other work. Next week’s show features D. Tracy Smith (MFA ’95), who was a scenic designer for Gaslit, the new Watergate show on Starz starring Julia Roberts and Sean Penn. https://tvjerry.com/podcasts/


Jennifer King Russell (BFA ’93) has taken a new position as Producing Artistic Assistant at Music Theatre Works in Illinois.


Cat Cochran (BFA ’22), pictured left, will be joining the Disney Live Entertainment cast in Orlando, Florida as the Lighting Design Intern this June. Yay Cat!


Addison Michael (BFA Dec ’21) is moving to NYC to work at John Kristiansen’s renowned Custom Costume Shop. Yay Addie!


JJ Johnson (BFA ‘97) is in a new show at the Olney Center in Maryland titled The Joy That Carries You.  He is very excited to be the writer and director and is thrilled with his cast.  J J recently closed as the Friar in  Nathan the Wise at Theatre J in the Folger Theatre.


Justin Ahdoot (BFA ’13) and Maggie Horan (BFA ’13) will both be seen in the upcoming FX series FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE opposite Jesse Eisenberg, Claire Danes, and Lizzy Caplan. Claire Yenson (BA ’13) worked on the casting for this series.


Claire Yenson (BA ’13) also recently cast Bergdorf Goodman’s Spring Campaign starring Denee Benton and featuring the voice talents of another alum, Morgan Meadows (BFA ’14)!


Costume designer KT Farmer (BFA ’22) is attending graduate school this Fall at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. Go KT!


Barnaby Felton (BFA ’99) has moved back to Richmond with his wife after many years in Las Vegas and Oregon and has already designed Gem of the Ocean at the Jefferson School Heritage Center in Charlottesville.  The show was directed by Leslie M. Scott-Jones (MFA ‘95) – who is the associate Curator of Education at the school.


Lilliana Valentin (BFA Dec ’21) is joining the Utah Shakespeare Festival as a costume technician. Woohoo!


Robert Mellette (BFA ’85) has a new young adult book out titled Kiya and the Morian Treasure.  The book can also be found by sample chapters on podcasts.


Cara Rawlings (MFA ‘05) recently choreographed all the movement for Men In Boats at the Virginia Tech School of the Performing Arts in Blacksburg.


William Cardozo (BFA ’22) was recently cast in Va Rep’s Tour for the 2022-23 season!! This Fall, you can see him in Hugs and Kisses (the musical) and Twas the Night Before Christmas (the musical). For the Spring look out for Ben Franklin and his Kite (play) and The Wonderful World of Simple Machines (play). Well done, William!


Jacquie Prater Lord (BFA  ‘08), personal chef of The Dinner Belle, catered a large Easter Celebration for patrons at the Orkeney in Chicago.  The meal was reviewed by the Chicago Eater very favorably for her take on three ways to serve lamb.


Happy Mahaney (MFA ’18) will be directing Mamma Mia for Virginia Repertory Theatre in Richmond in June 2022.   Keep an eye out for Auditions.


Shawn Clerkin (MFA ‘88) is happy to announce that he has been invited to be the director for the FAM Tour for the World Strides/ International Collegiate Theatre Festival 2022.  This will take the students to Edinburgh Scotland for the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.


Caroline Mae Woodson (BFA ’22) will be attending Yale and University of Oxford’s ‘Midsummer in Oxford’ program this summer to study classical text! 


Nathan Rankin (BA ’22) will be returning to Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia for their 6th season and will be performing in their all new show, ‘Let’s Get Wild!’. Go Nathan!


Maggie Horan (BFA ‘13)  is thrilled to be cast as Cordelia at the AMT Theatre on May 1, 2022. The reading of King Lear will be directed by Austin Pendleton for The Workshop Theatre Company as part of its annual “Will-A-Thon” celebrating Shakespeare’s birthday. 


Collin Aloi (Musical Theatre Minor, BS ’22) just accepted a position as an Assistant Company Manager at the Gateway Playhouse in Long Island, NY. Congrats!
