Hillary Waters Fayle

Program Coordinator
MFA, Craft/Material Studies, Virginia Commonwealth University
BFA, Fiber/Textile Design, Buffalo State College

Hillary is an artist whose work combines organic, botanical objects with the rich traditions of needlecraft, binding nature and the human touch. Both tender and ruthless, this intricate stitch work communicates the idea that our relationship with the natural world is both tenuously fragile and infinitely complex.

With sustainability and environmental stewardship at the heart of her work, her art as been exhibited nationally and internationally and has been featured in various publications and online.

Hillary recently joined the department to help coordinate and manage department and program services. We welcome the experience and perspective that she brings from her studies in crafts, materials, and textiles, noting the intriguing overlap and connection that it has with the field of interior design.
