Laura Battaglia: Revealing History Through Design

Laura Battaglia, Assistant Professor of Interior Design, presented her research paper “Revealing History Through Design: An Exploration of Pedagogy in Projects Rooted in Reconciliation and Remembrance” at the 4th Barcelona Conference on Education (BCE2023), held in partnership with the IAFOR Research Centre at the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) at Osaka University, Japan. With over 60 countries represented, the forum provided a venue for international, intercultural, and interdisciplinary engagement. Her paper explored projects through the eyes of educators and design students who share a robust commitment to move beyond mere building design into the realm of history and humanities.
