Join us at the Anderson on October 1st at 12 PM for a talk by book artist Nneoma Njoku, organized on the occasion of the exhibition River Monuments on view through October 18, 2025.

In her artist’s book and exhibition River Monuments, Nneoma turns Richmond’s oldest river into a central character in the city’s story. She will discuss the river’s propensity for dissolving boundaries, instability, and transcendence, and how she uses these characteristics as storytelling devices that encourage viewers to reorient their perceptions of place, historical memory, and monumental moments in time. Nneoma will also provide insight on her artistic research during her residency.
