Late Breaking, the 2026 MFA Candidacy Exhibition, featured the work of 21 artists from six departments.
This exhibition takes place at the end of the second semester of a graduate student’s first year and represents a major milestone in the two-year process of pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree. Graduate students develop their studio work throughout the academic year, install their candidacy exhibition, and undergo a formal review of the work with their programs. Successful students proceed to their second year of graduate study to develop their work for their MFA Thesis Exhibition at the ICA at the culmination of their degree.
The 2026 Candidacy exhibitions were on view April 17-25th.
