About the Program
In the Bachelor of Music with a concentration in music education/vocal-choral program you will develop your personal musicality while you gain practical classroom teaching experience through student-teaching internships and work in the field. You will study lyric diction and the music education curriculum, which includes choral methods and rehearsal techniques.
Students who have earned a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Music Education/Vocal-Choral and completed all program requirements, including required licensure assessments, are eligible to apply for Virginia teacher licensure with a Music Education – Vocal/Choral (PreK–12) endorsement.
You’ll be taught by faculty who are leaders in their fields, and have regular access to acclaimed visiting artists who come here for concerts, masterclasses and clinics.
