The Fine Arts Group at VCUarts is offering courses for the Summer 2026 semester, and some classes still have seats available!

Here is a selection of some of the courses we are offering this summer.
These courses, like all of our summer courses, are available to ALL VCU students regardless of major!

Narrative Printmaking 

  • PAPR 491-002 (CRN 42227)
  • Instructor: Mehreen Fatima
  • Mon-Fri 9:00am – 2:00pm; running from June 08 – July 08
  • 4 Credits
  • This course introduces students to printmaking through an integrated exploration of silkscreen, intaglio, and monotype processes. Students will develop a cohesive suite of prints centered on a single concept, learning techniques such as stencil and photo-based screenprinting alongside drypoint, plate-based methods, and painterly monotype. Emphasis is placed on narrative approaches to printmaking, encouraging both abstract and figurative strategies to build meaning across multiple images.

Beginning Jewelry 

  • CRAF 211-001 (CRN 42636)
  • Instructor: Sarah Parker
  • Mon-Fri 1:00 – 5:00pm, running from June 22 – July 23
  • 4 Credits
  • Investigation of basic jewelry making processes such as construction, chasing, surface embellishment, and basic stone setting. Research incontemporary and historical jewelry forms.
