๐ŸŒŸ The What ๐ŸŒŸ

Jump!Star is an initiative centering around the lesser-known fact that we will have a new North Star by the end of this millennium, due to a wobble in the Earthโ€™s rotation. At its core, Jump!Star is about recalibrating our relationship with time and challenging ourselves to make decisions with a longer time frame in mind. The Dekascope, created by Ferrandi and a team of collaborators, is an interactive zine designed for students to consider their lives over the next ten years. Students can submit the completed zine to a ten year time capsule. Come read the zine to learn more!

๐Ÿข The Where ๐Ÿข

Please pick up your Dekascope and an envelope from the front desk at The Anderson. Bring it home, fill out the prompts in the zine, seal them in the envelope, address to yourself, and affix a โ€œforeverโ€ stamp. Then, return your Dekascope to the front desk of The Anderson.

โฐ The When โฐ

The last day to return your Dekascope to the front desk of The Anderson will be October 15th. In one decade, on December 11th (the birthday of Annie Jump Cannon, the namesake for the Jump!Star project), the vault will be unlocked and your Dekascope will be mailed by the artist to the address youโ€™ve written on it, so think carefully about who will know how to contact you a decade from now so you can receive this message from your past self!
