The Department of Communication Arts is proud to host a visiting artist lecture by Communication Arts Alumni, Catherine Samples, an Art Director for Magic: The Gathering, Universes Beyond at Wizards of the Coast! Please join us at Harris Hall (room 101) on Friday, April 24th at 1:30 pm for the lecture.
Prior to working at Wizards of the Coast, Catherine worked for 8 years as a professional in the higher education sector with a focus on teaching fantasy illustration for table-top, trading card games, and video game focused art careers at VCUarts.
As a fine artist, Catherine has exhibited work at galleries and museums, received nationally recognized fellowships and awards, and has juried, curated, promoted, and hung both solo and group shows.
