Assistant Professor

Hillary Waters Fayle is assistant professor of fine arts in the Craft and Material Studies Program within the Department of Fine Arts. Her area of focus is fiber.

Fayle taught workshops at Penland School of Craft (North Caroline), the Mediterranean Art & Design Program (Italy) and Yasar University (Turkey). Her work has been widely exhibited and was recently on view at Greenhill Center for Art in Greensboro, NC, Quirk Gallery in Charlottesville, Virginia; the Lamont Gallery in Exeter, New Hampshire; and the Czurles Nelson Gallery in Buffalo, New York.

Her work is in the permanent collections of the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, Capital One, Dominion, and the Kalmthout Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in Belgium. It has also been installed at the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka. A public installation in collaboration with the AKG Museum can be seen year round in Buffalo.

Fayle earned her M.F.A. in fibers from VCUarts, and her B.F.A. in fiber design from the State University College at Buffalo.
