David Toussaint serves as adjunct faculty of classical guitar at VCU. He received his B.A. from the University of Richmond and his Bachelor of Music, with honors, in performance from VCU. He continued his studies with graduate work at the Catholic University of America and then went on to earn his master’s degree in music from George Mason University.

Toussaint has performed in several master classes for Christopher Parkening, as well as for Manuel Barrueco, David Russell and Jesùs Silva. Toussaint has been featured and performed on radio and television. He has performed throughout the Virginia area in solo performances as well as with ensembles. In addition to teaching at VCU, Toussaint also teaches out of his studio in Northern Virginia.

He has a keen interest in classical guitar history and, as a result, believes in teaching a technique that is grounded in the fundamentals of the masters yet flexible in accommodating to each student’s individual anatomy.
