Joni is a mixed media artist from Fredericksburg. A graduate of the VCU Crafts dept, she she worked in Visual Merchandising for Miller & Rhoads and Thalhimer’s department stores. Her first love was a Xerox color copier, which became the gateway to a future as a paper junkie and collage artist. Her hilarious, hand sewn greeting cards evolved into a business which has continued for 30+ years. Joni’s addiction to cashmere has found a purpose, utilized into rehabilitating damaged and donated sweaters into restyled scarves and hats. And a love of storytelling has found it’s way into her one of a kind shadowbox collages. In addition to three dimensional storytelling, Joni has twice visited the stage at NPR’s ‘The Moth’.
