Transfer application deadline.

Applicants who submit their application and all necessary materials by the regular decision deadline are guaranteed a decision by May 1.

* Fall-Only Entry: Due to a specific sequence of required courses, students may only begin the following programs in the fall semester: Art Education, Cinema, Communication Arts, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Kinetic Imaging, and Photography and Film.

Step 1: Submit your Common Application

Transfer applicants use VCU’s application for admission. Applicants may only submit one application to one major.

Step 2: Submit your program-specific materials

If your program requires arts-specific materials, you will receive an email with instructions after submitting your application. See the program-specific requirements below for more details.

Step 3: Send your transcripts

Transfer applicants must submit an official transcript from each previously attended college or university, including summer schools. If less than 30 semester (45 quarter) hours have been completed, applicants also must submit high school transcripts. Official transcripts must be delivered to the Office of Admissions unopened and sealed in their original envelope.
