The Anderson and VCUarts are pleased to present Late Breaking, the 2026 MFA Candidacy Exhibitions featuring the work of 21 of artists across the disciplines of Craft/Material Studies, Graphic Design, Kinetic Imaging, Painting + Printmaking, Photography + Film and Sculpture + Extended Media.
This exhibition takes place at the end of the second semester of a graduate student’s first year and represents a major milestone in the two-year process of pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree. Graduate students develop their studio work throughout the academic year, install their candidacy exhibition, and undergo a formal review of the work with their programs. Successful students proceed to their second year of graduate study to develop their work for their MFA Thesis Exhibition at the ICA at the culmination of their degree.

The exhibition features 21 artists from six departments and will be on view April 17-25th.
