In partnership with VCU, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) will take place at the Greater Richmond Convention Center April 13-15, 2026. NCUR is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of student scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all disciplines. Overall, this conference offers a unique environment for the celebration and promotion of undergraduate student achievement; provides models of exemplary research, scholarship, and creative activity; and offers student career readiness development. With nearly 400 undergraduate researchers presenting at VCU’s annual campus symposium for undergraduate research each year, we are well positioned to make a strong showing at the NCUR conference this year!
We are expecting a large VCU turnout for NCUR, and students are strongly encouraged to submit a research abstract for NCUR. VCU will print posters free of cost for accepted students. Please note that projects do not need to be completed for submission to NCUR, projects in progress are welcome!
For VCU undergraduates interested in presenting at NCUR in Richmond:
- Abstracts are due no later than Friday, December 5th, 2025
- The Office of Undergraduate Research will cover all registration costs, including lunch, for the first 400 VCU students accepted to present at NCUR.
- Our office will print your poster for presenters, free of cost, if received by the deadline of April 1st.
For undergraduates who are interested in presenting, please review the submission page and FAQs in advance of the deadline. The following video provides a helpful guide on preparing your abstract for submission. You should also check the timeline for important dates.
