Every summer, Byrdcliffe provides over 60 visual, literary, and performing artists of exceptional talent uninterrupted creative time within the serene natural setting of the historic arts colony in Woodstock, NY.
The Communal Program spans three communal buildings that provide a private bedroom and workspace for each artist, communal kitchens, bathrooms and living space. The Summer Program consists of four sessions, each 3 1/2 weeks.
The Individual Residency Program varies in length and offers artists live/work space within the larger creative community of the Byrdcliffe Summer season. They are more autonomous by nature.
Communal and Individual residents may participate in planned activities that include studio visits, excursions, and social events. Byrdcliffe residencies are ideal for emerging, mid-career and established artists. Please spread the word to those in your program who may benefit from a Byrdcliffe residency.
