The Grace Street Theater (934 W. Grace St.) is the primary performance venue for the Department of Dance + Choreography. The Department of Art History and the Cinema program also use the renovated historic theater for classes and film screenings. In addition to its university uses, the 225-seat theater is available to the Richmond community to rent for dance performances, film festivals, guest artist lectures and other events.

Staff from the Grace Street Theater will reach out with a decision regarding your inquiry or to request more information if necessary. Requests must be submitted through this form a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to your requested event date to be considered. At this time, the Grace Street Theater cannot help facilitate any kind of ticketing services for your event.

Accessibility
We offer wheelchair seating as well as wheelchair companion seating, and the box office staff can provide additional seating suggestions based on a patron’s mobility, sight, hearing, and other needs.
Accessible parking spaces are located in both pay-by-space parking lots located directly across the street (BB lot) and one block east of the Grace Street Theater (HH lot). Additionally there is one accessible street parking space located directly across the street in front of Plaza Artist Materials & Picture Framing.
The Grace Street Theater offers assisted listening devices which can be requested prior to the event by calling 804-828-2020. These receivers can be offered with headphones/earbuds or with an audio induction loop that amplifies the theater sound to cochlear implants or telecoil-equipped hearing aids.
Trained service animals are permitted to assist guests inside the theater. Please call the Grace Street Theater at 804-828-2020 when purchasing tickets to your event to allow our staff to accomodate appropriate seating. All other animals are prohibited.
