The Beach at The Anderson welcomes students back to campus for the Fall 2025 Semester with a space to gather and not quite let go of that summertime feeling of relaxation. Gallery visitors are invited to sit in the adirondack chairs and take in a selection of video work by VCUarts Faculty. The Beach is part of a series of interventions in public spaces by Photo+Film Faculty John D. Freyer and his Fifty/Fifty project. Freyer’s projects transform forgotten and underutilized spaces with scraps of astroturf, salvaged lawn furniture and thrift store bicycles to create substance free spaces for community and conversation.
