The Anderson and the Queer Arts Collective are pleased to present, I’m So Glad I Met You, the second annual QuAC juried exhibition at The Anderson. The exhibition will be on view from February 6-28th with an opening reception on February 6th from 5-8 pm.
Exhibition Statement:
I’m So Glad I Met You is an exhibition centered around the theme of chosen family and its role in the survival of the queer community. This refers to family groups that are made by choice, rather than biology. Based around solidarity and care, these surrogate relationships are often made out of necessity when people are cast out from their blood families for living as their true selves. In the current political climate, community and found family play a special role and are important in our everyday life now more than ever.
