The Anderson and VCUarts Craft/Material Studies Department are pleased to present Beyond the Grains, an exhibition of student woodwork. The exhibition will be on view from January 16th – February 21st, with an opening reception on January 16th from 5-8 pm.
Exhibition Statement:
Beyond the Grains is a juried group exhibition that explores experimental woodworking through the hands of craft students at all levels. This show aims to highlight pieces that depict high levels of craftsmanship. By moving past conventional forms and functions, Beyond the Grains invites viewers to see how the new generation of makers is redefining what wood can communicate in contemporary craft.
