Rob Tregenza is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker whose work as a director, cinematographer, editor, and producer has been celebrated at Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Sundance, and more.

His features Talking to Strangers, Inside/Out, Gavagai, and The Fishing Place—all shot on 35mm—have earned critical praise, including recognition from Jean-Luc Godard and a major retrospective at MoMA (Thinking With Cinema, 2023). Gavagai was ranked among Metacritic’s top films of 2018. Tregenza holds a Ph.D. from UCLA and has also worked as a commercial director, international cinematographer, and distributor of major auteurs including Rivette, Haneke, and Tarr.

His book Rob Tregenza: Mise-en-scène was published in 2023 by the Polish National Film School in Łódź. Four of his features are part of MoMA’s permanent collection.
