Miranda Reichhardt (she/they) is a figurative artist, has red hair, and has certainly eaten a plate of roasted brussel sprouts sometime within the last 48 hours. Miranda’s painting and drawing practice focuses on the body through the self-portrait, contextualized in narrative by the dual contradictions of punch-lines and wailing. Here, Miranda explores non-binary gender, the nauseating treat of corporeality, w(oh man!)hood, grief, and sexuality—the stuttered passing of agency or genitalia like hot-potatoes (amongst self or with sweethearts).
In 2019, Miranda received her MFA in Fine Arts from UNC-Greensboro and has since been exhibiting paintings nationally—holding the position of Regional Emerging Artist in Residence at Artspace (Raleigh, NC) in 2020.
Miranda lives (and teaches) in Richmond, Virginia with her weird little cat named Mustard (née Orlando).
