In addition, in 2019, Brian was commissioned by USA TODAY Sports to write THOSE WHO STAY, a series of historical fiction articles chronicling the tumultuous 1969 Michigan Football season amid the civil rights movement.

Brian currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
