Born and raised near Detroit, MI and graduate of the University of Michigan, Brian has been a professional actor and writer for twenty-two years. As an actor, he’s best known for playing “B613 Agent Tom Larsen” on all seven seasons of ABC’s smash-hit SCANDAL – a role for which Producers submitted him for EMMY consideration as “Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series” on three different occasions.

Brian most recently recurred on 9-1-1 LONESTAR and as Director of CIA Special Initiatives “Tucker Magnus” on CW’s VALOR as well as numerous other shows including GREY’S ANATOMY, FBI: INTERNATIONAL, CHICAGO FIRE, NCIS: NOLA, GRIMM, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS and SHOOTER among many others. He is also an active member of two theatre companies in Los Angeles.

As a writer, his first play, WHEN THE LIGHTS COME ON, loosely based on his experiences as a Division 1A college football coach, was produced in 2007 by Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre Company to rave reviews and a sold-out run. His next play, SMART LOVE, about a heartbroken young genius who brings his father back from the dead, premiered at The Purple Rose in 2016 and was subsequently produced at Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice, CA where it was an LA Times Critic’s Choice and was then sold to AMC Studios for whom Brian wrote the pilot. In addition, in 2019, Brian was commissioned by USA TODAY Sports to write THOSE WHO STAY, a series of historical fiction articles chronicling the tumultuous 1969 Michigan Football season amid the civil rights movement.

Brian currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
