Let the Right One In
Based on the novel and film by: John Ajvide Lindqvist
Adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne
Directed by Wes Seals
October 5th – 85th, 2023
VCUarts Theatre presents Let the Right One In by Jack Thorne, a supernatural thriller adapted from the bestselling novel and award-winning film. Oskar is a bullied, lonely teenage boy in 1980’s rural Virginia when a series of sinister killings rocks their small community. Eli is the young girl who has just moved in next door. She doesn’t go to school and never leaves the apartment by day. Sensing in each other a kindred spirit, the two become devoted friends. What Oskar doesn’t know is that Eli has been a teenager for a very long time. Expect a surprisingly sweet and tender story with moments of gruesome violence and bloodshed.

Argan plans to marry his daughter to a doctor so he can save on his medical bills; however, she’s in love with someone else. Soon the whole household joins in her madcap scheme to save true love and give Argan’s doctors a dose of their own medicine.
