The Capital Prize

Call for Alumni Submissions

The Capital Prize and accompanying juried exhibition series sponsored by Capital Square features two rounds, each showcasing the exceptional talent of VCUarts Painting + Printmaking alumni. This unique opportunity places alumni work in a dynamic residential setting, providing visibility in one of Richmond's most active creative neighborhoods while contributing to a vibrant arts community. This is a great opportunity for professional exposure in an unconventional gallery space and the chance to connect with new audiences and potential patrons. The Capital Prize is now accepting submissions for Round One. Details about the prize, award levels and submission requirements can be found below.

    Access the job board and interview research and preparation tools at VCU Career Services. Within your first year after graduation, you may schedule career advising appointments.
  • Continuing Studies Scholarships

    You may apply for scholarships available exclusively to alumni, such as the Fulbright program. The VCU National Scholarship Office provides helpful information sessions and essay-writing workshops for applicants.
  • Adobe Discounts

    Purchase an Adobe Creative Cloud license at the discounted education rate for six months after graduation and migrate your content from your school account to your new personal account.
  • Visual Arts Center Membership

    The Visual Arts Center of Richmond offers a free one-year membership to its Visual Arts Creative Ambassadors young professionals group.
