Quilt: Verb: to stitch or sew together: conjoin, join, make contact, or come together.

To Keep You Warm is a collaborative project by students in the Craft/Material Studies Department. The artists have used the skills they’ve learned over the course of the semester to design and create full-sized quilts. Scraps of fabric, upcycled clothing, and domestic materials have been carefully considered, dyed, cut, and brought together through the work of many hands.

These quilts will be donated to patients in palliative care at the VCU Massey Cancer Center upon the closing of this exhibition. The focus of this care center is to improve the quality of life for patients of any age grappling with a serious illness. The quilts are proudly made and given away as a means of offering care for one another and our greater VCU and Richmond community.

The exhibition will take place in the Murry N. DePillars Atrium and will run from April 24 to April 25.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, April 24th, from 5-7 PM.
