VCUarts and The Anderson are pleased to present, Heat Island, an exhibition of artworks by Sirena Pearl. The exhibition opens January 17, 5-7pm, and will be on view on the second floor of The Anderson in Gallery D through January 31.
Heat Island is an immersive exhibition that examines how materials in urban environments contribute to the rise in temperatures, a phenomenon known as the urban heat island effect. Building on the Urban Heat Island mural project at the Bowe Street Parking Deck, the exhibition features thermal infrared paintings, augmented reality, and interactive data visualizations.
