Jeannette Andamasaris is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design in The School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work ranges from performance art and dance, to design and marine biology, all of which took her around the world and led her to also co-found the design firm Studio Figure in Charlottesville, VA. As a Principal Partner of Studio Figure, Jeannette oversees creative direction and leads projects through all phases of the design process. She holds a Masters Degree in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design, NYC, where she won the Thesis Award for her research titled “Adoration”, which rethinks and redesigns domestic violence shelters. Her research on bodily movement as an empowering and functional aspect to shaping interior space remains a key focus for Jeannette. Ethnographic research and equity are at the core of her teaching and practice.
