WonJung Choi was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. Through her series of installations, drawings, prints, 3D printed sculptures and sculptures, Choi explores the cultural aesthetics of hybridity and heterogeneity, regional and global identity and shows her firm belief that humanity has evolved based on migration. Her work is conducted by labor-intensive practices, also by equally intensive research-based processes.

Choi received her MFA in Fine Arts from School of Visual Arts in New York, USA and her BFA and MFA in Sculpture from Hong-Ik University in Seoul, Korea. She won First prizes in Trawick Award and Emerald Award and awarded residencies at Museum of Arts and Design, Artists Alliance Inc. (AAI) in New York and fellowship in Vermont Studio Center in VT.

Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as Katzen Museum in American University (Washington DC), Wave Hill (New York), Bloomberg NYC, Real Art Ways (CT), Gwangju Museum of Art (Korea), Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art (New York), Cuchifritos (New York), Mixed Green Gallery (New York), Space cottonseed (Singapore), Islip Museum (New York), Art Place (Seoul), H.P France gallery (Tokyo), ARARIO Gallery (Korea) and Ras Al Ain Galley (Jordan). Her works are in the collections at Samsung(Korea), Swarovski (USA) and ARCHEUS (UK).
