Dr. Elaine Reeder is a Assistant Director of Curriculum Development at VCU. She holds a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from UNT, a Master’s in Education from GW, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RIT. Her research focus is on the design of online learning.

Elaine began her career at Winterthur Museum and Gardens where she developed and designed products for their quarterly catalog. She then spent twenty years teaching in a computer graphics program at a college in New Jersey; her favorite classes to teach are typography, fundamentals of design, and interface design.

When Elaine relocated to Virginia she combined her passion for teaching, design skills, and her research in online learning. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing students succeed.

On a personal note, Elaine is married with two children. She enjoys the outdoors and would love to spend an entire day in a hammock reading.
