Associate Director of Bands Associate Director of Bands
Philip Coston is the associate director of bands in Music, and the director of the University Band and the VCU “Peppas” Pep Band. He also teaches secondary methods and techniques for rehearsal and marching band. In addition to his work as an educator, Coston is active as guest clinician, conductor, and adjudicator. He earned his Master of Music degree in euphonium performance at James Madison University, and his bachelor’s degree in music education, with a concentration in instrumental music for grades K-12, from VCUarts.
