Your eID is your university account that controls your ability to log into computers, use the WiFi network, and access online services. The myeID portal contains information and links for managing your password.

Every person is required to change their eID password at least once a year. When you change your password, macOS computers assigned to Faculty and Staff will continue to use your old eID password until you complete the password sync process. That process is outlined in this document. Windows computers may accept your new password immediately, or may continue to use the old password for a period of time. It depends on when and how you are connected to the university network.

The university operates several different WiFi networks. Faculty, Staff, and Students should use the VCU SafeNet Wireless network. Use your eID name and password to authenticate.

Instructions for connecting to the VCU SafeNet Wireless network from an Android device are here.

Google Workspace at VCU allows faculty and staff to take advantage of Google’s cloud-based services. Google Workspace allows faculty and staff easy collaboration via email, chat, video conferences, social media, real-time document collaborations, and more.

This service is administered by the university, and more information is available here.

OnePrint
The OnePrint_BW and OnePrint_Color print queues are automatically installed on all VCUarts computers.

Other Departmental Printers
Department printers that are not part of the OnePrint system can be added via Managed Software Center on macOS clients, and via Software Center on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

OnePrint
Go to this page.
Download and install.
Two print queues will be created (OnePrintAnywhere_BW and OnePrintAnywhere_Color).

When used, these print queues produce a pop up that asks you to identify yourself by entering your eID name.

Other Departmental Printers
To have other non-OnePrint departmental printers set up on your personal computer, you will need to submit a support request to VCUarts Technology Support.

There are two types of OnePrint devices:

  • OnePrint Anywhere devices which are typically used by employees for departmental printing.
  • OnePrint Pay devices which are typically used by students, but are also available to employees for personal printing.

Print jobs sent to any OnePrint print queue can be released from either type of OnePrint device, but the different devices charge in different ways.

OnePrint Anywhere Devices
Prints released from OnePrint Anywhere devices are charged to whatever university budget code has been assigned to you.
To release the job, you need to be activated in the system, and assigned a university budget code.
Once you are activated in the system, then you can release print jobs from any OnePrint Anywhere device on campus.
If you cannot badge into a OnePrint Anywhere device, then you are not yet activated in the system, and you should work with your department administrator to be added to the system.

VCUarts has OnePrint Anywhere devices in the following locations:

  • The Anderson (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • Franklin Terrace 201 Communication Arts administrative suite (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Monochrome)
  • DePillars 313 Fine Arts Group employee workroom (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • Markel Center 302 ICA administrative suite (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • Depot Annex 1003 Kinetic administrative suite (8.5 x 11, Color)
  • Performing Arts Center 134 Music administrative suite (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • Other OnePrint Anywhere devices are available in departments across campus.

OnePrint Pay Devices
Print jobs released from OnePrint Pay devices are charged to your Rambucks account.
To release the job, you need to have enough money in your Rambucks account.

VCUarts has OnePrint Pay devices in the following locations:

  • Franklin Terrace 1st floor hallway (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • DePillars 101 (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • Pollak 3rd floor hallway (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
  • Pollak 4th floor hallway (8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, Color)
